Ten milliseconds is the distance from Hong Kong to Singapore, and hosting cannot argue with geography. Anyone claiming 2ms to XM from Hong Kong is either measuring something else or making it up.
The case for a Hong Kong VPS with XM is therefore not about speed alone. It is about running your terminals somewhere that never sleeps, never reboots for a Windows update mid-session, and gives you Cantonese and English support in your own timezone — plus the option to add a Hong Kong-hosted broker later at about 2ms without changing anything. Should I use a Singapore VPS instead for XM?
If XM is your only broker and latency is your only criterion, yes — a Singapore host will be faster and we would rather tell you that than sell you the wrong thing. Choose Hong Kong if you also trade Hong Kong-hosted brokers, want support in your timezone, or value the uptime and stability more than the few milliseconds.
Is 10ms a problem for EAs on XM?
Rarely. Most EAs act on closed candles or signals that are seconds apart, so 10ms is immaterial to them — what matters is that the terminal is running when the signal fires. High-frequency and latency-arbitrage strategies are the exception, and those should not be run from Hong Kong to Singapore in the first place.
