Pepperstone VPS
~5ms measured latency from Hong Kong
Pepperstone serves Asian clients from trading servers in Singapore and Tokyo. From Equinix HK1 we measure about 5ms — a stable, predictable number that holds through the London and New York sessions rather than degrading like a home connection does.
Measured latency to Pepperstone
~5ms
Server location: Singapore / Tokyo · Measured: 2026-08-24
Measured via MT5 terminal from Equinix HK1. Latency varies with network conditions, account server assignment, and market volatility; not guaranteed.
Pepperstone isn't in Hong Kong — so why use a Hong Kong VPS?
The honest answer is that the 5ms comes from distance, and no VPS provider can remove it. What we can remove is the variability. A residential connection might average 120ms and still spike past 400ms during an NFP release; a colocated VPS holds its number when it matters most, because it is not sharing a consumer network with the rest of the building.
That stability is the reason most Pepperstone customers here run more than one terminal. With Standard or Pro you can keep several strategies live at once — and if you also hold an account with a Hong Kong-hosted broker, that terminal will sit at roughly 2ms on the very same VPS. One machine, both latencies, no second subscription.

Against the conservative 100ms end of home broadband, ~5ms is roughly 20× faster. If your broker runs servers in Hong Kong (Ultima Markets or Vantage), latency drops to about 2ms — see our measured latency page for the full table.

What latency does fxVPS measure to Pepperstone?
About 5ms from our Equinix HK1 instance to Pepperstone Asian servers in Singapore and Tokyo, measured with an MT5 terminal. We label 2ms only for brokers with servers physically in Hong Kong, which Pepperstone Asia is not.
Why not just use a Singapore VPS for Pepperstone?
If Pepperstone is the only broker you will ever trade, a Singapore VPS would shave off those few milliseconds. The reason our customers choose Hong Kong is that they also trade Hong Kong-hosted brokers, or want the option to — from HK1 you get about 2ms to those and about 5ms to Singapore, whereas from Singapore the Hong Kong leg becomes the slow one.
Do I need to install MT4 or MT5 myself?
No. Both are pre-installed on every fxVPS. Connect by Remote Desktop, open the terminal, select your Pepperstone live server from the dropdown, and log in with your account credentials.
